Part-Time Science Teacher

The Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District is seeking a Part-Time Science Teacher (.7) to provide instruction in Earth Science and biology-based general science courses at the secondary level. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, standards-based instruction while supporting students’ scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and understanding of core science concepts.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching Earth Science and biology-based general science courses at the secondary level
  • Developing and implementing engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans
  • Incorporating laboratory experiences and inquiry-based learning into instruction
  • Assessing student progress and providing timely feedback
  • Collaborating with colleagues on curriculum development and instructional practices
  • Supporting a positive and inclusive classroom environment
