Probationary School Counselor (High School)
Location: Wellington C. Mepham High School

The Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District is seeking a probationary High School Counselor for an anticipated vacancy at Wellington C. Mepham High School. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with students, families, faculty, and administrators to support students’ academic progress, social-emotional well-being, and post-secondary planning.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing individual and group counseling to high school students
  • Assisting students with academic planning and course selection
  • Guiding students through the college and career planning process, including applications and post-secondary options
  • Monitoring student progress and supporting at-risk students
  • Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and support staff to address student needs
  • Communicating with families and facilitating referrals to outside services when appropriate
