The successful candidate will work with students with a range of disabilities, providing speech and language therapy in accordance with IEP goals and supporting students’ communication development in an educational setting.

• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and related service providers
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
• Participate in team meetings as needed

The successful candidate will deliver engaging, standards-based instruction while supporting students’ scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and understanding of core science concepts.

Part-Time High School English Teacher (0.3 FTE)

Position Summary:
The Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District is seeking dynamic, student-centered part-time English teacher for a high school split position. Ideal candidates will have experience fostering a love of reading and writing, differentiating instruction for diverse learners, and integrating literacy strategies across the curriculum.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned English lessons for students in grades 9-12
• Assess and support student learning through formative and summative assessments
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administration to support student success
• Participate in professional development and school initiatives
• Support a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

Permanent Substitute Teachers - Must be secondary certified 7-12 

Per-Diem Substitute Teachers available. Candidate must be secondary certified.

• Create lesson plans, assignments, and curriculum for each student, and ensure they meet state guidelines
• Provide direct and indirect instruction to students in a variety of settings, including at home, in a classroom, or in a library
• Prepare students for required assessments, and conduct formal and informal assessments of student progress
• Create a positive environment, and meet students' individual needs
• Help students reach their educational goals, and mentor them
• Communicate concerns with administration and/or school teacher
