• Teach middle school mathematics classes (grades 7–8), including daily instruction, lesson planning, assessments, and differentiation.

• Maintain a supportive, engaging, and structured classroom environment.

• Collaborate with grade-level and department colleagues to ensure consistency in curriculum and instruction.

• Communicate regularly with students, families, and school staff regarding progress and expectations.

• Support students with diverse learning needs and implement accommodations as required.

• Fulfill standard professional responsibilities, including attending meetings, supervising activities, and contributing to the school community.

• Deliver vocal music instruction

• Lead full-ensemble rehearsals, warm-ups, and sectional practice as appropriate

• Maintain a safe, positive, and well-managed classroom environmen

• Take attendance and follow all school policies and procedures

• Communicate any classroom concerns or notable student progress to the building administrator 

• Uphold district expectations for professionalism and student conduct

Post student teaching experience for individuals who are already placed in Bellmore-Merrick CHSD

Permanent Substitute Teachers - Must be secondary certified 7-12 

Per-Diem Substitute Teachers available. Candidate must be secondary certified.

• Create lesson plans, assignments, and curriculum for each student, and ensure they meet state guidelines
• Provide direct and indirect instruction to students in a variety of settings, including at home, in a classroom, or in a library
• Prepare students for required assessments, and conduct formal and informal assessments of student progress
• Create a positive environment, and meet students' individual needs
• Help students reach their educational goals, and mentor them
• Communicate concerns with administration and/or school teacher
