There is an anticipated vacancy for the position of Assistant Principal at Sanford H. Calhoun High School, effective July 1, 2026. 

General Responsibilities

Leadership and Administration

  • Assist the Principal in the administration and supervision in accordance with Board of Education policy and district goals
  • Serve as a member of the Principal’s Cabinet and participate actively in shared decision-making
  • Help develop, maintain, and communicate building procedures to staff, parents, and students
  • Assist in fostering positive school-community relations

Instructional Supervision and Staff Support

  • Supervise and evaluate teachers and assigned support staff in accordance with district-approved evaluation systems
  • Provide instructional leadership to support high-quality teaching and learning
  • Assist in the development and delivery of professional learning opportunities for staff
  • Supervise academic departments or programs as assigned by the Principal

Student Management and School Climate

  • Supervise student conduct and assist in enforcing the district code of conduct and ensuring due process
  • Support initiatives that promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive school environment
  • Assist with attendance administration and student record systems
  • Support co-curricular and extracurricular activities as assigned
  • Participate in PPS and/or site-based committee meetings

Operations, Safety, and Compliance

  • Support the administration of building operations, safety, and supervision of facilities
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and district regulations
  • Assist in completing state and federal reports and related record keeping
  • Support the collection, organization, and analysis of assessment and student performance data
