Part-Time Science Teacher
District: Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District
The Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District is seeking a Part-Time Science Teacher to provide instruction in Earth Science and general science courses at the secondary level. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, standards-based instruction while supporting students’ scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and understanding of core science concepts.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching Earth Science and general science courses at the secondary level
- Developing and implementing engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans
- Incorporating laboratory experiences and inquiry-based learning into instruction
- Assessing student progress and providing timely feedback
- Collaborating with colleagues on curriculum development and instructional practices
- Supporting a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Qualifications:
- Valid New York State Earth Science certification required
- Experience teaching secondary science courses preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
