Position: School Psychologist (Leave Replacement)
Location: Grand Avenue Middle School
Dates of Assignment: January 20, 2026 – May 4, 2026
Reports To: Building Principal / Director of Special Education

Position Overview:
Grand Avenue Middle School is seeking a compassionate and skilled School Psychologist (Leave Replacement) to join our student support team during a leave. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive psychological services to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development.

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting psychological and educational evaluations, including standardized testing and data interpretation.

• Participating in Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings and contributing to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

• Providing individual and group counseling to address social, emotional and behavioral needs.

• Collaborating with teachers, school counselors, administrators, and families to design and implement student support strategies.

• Assisting with crisis intervention, behavioral consultation, and school-wide initiatives that promote positive mental health and well-being.

Job Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Valid New York State Certification as a School Psychologist.

• Experience working with middle school students preferred.

• Strong knowledge of middle-level developmental psychology, social and emotional development, and evidence-based interventions.

• Demonstrated proficiency in psychological assessment, report writing, and consultation.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
