Probationary School Counselor (Middle School)
Location: Grand Avenue Middle School
District: Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District

The Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District is seeking a probationary Middle School Counselor for a vacancy at Grand Avenue Middle School. The successful candidate will support students’ academic and social-emotional development while collaborating with faculty, administration, and families to promote student success.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing individual and group counseling to middle school students
• Supporting students’ academic planning and transition to high school
• Assisting with scheduling and monitoring student progress
• Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and support staff to address student needs
• Communicating with families and facilitating referrals to outside services when appropriate
• Participating in building-based support teams and student support initiatives

Job Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Valid New York State School Counselor certification required
• Experience working with middle school students preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Start Date: Anticipated - August 20, 2026
