Position: School Psychologist (Leave Replacement) Location: John F. Kennedy HS Dates of Assignment: 3/2/26-6/2026 Reports To: Building Principal / Director of Special Education
Position Overview: John F. Kennedy HS is seeking a compassionate and skilled School Psychologist (Leave Replacement) to join our student support team during a leave. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive psychological services to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development.
Responsibilities include:
Conducting psychological and educational evaluations, including standardized testing and data interpretation.
Participating in Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings and contributing to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Providing individual and group counseling to address social, emotional and behavioral needs.
Collaborating with teachers, school counselors, administrators, and families to design and implement student support strategies.
Assisting with crisis intervention, behavioral consultation, and school-wide initiatives that promote positive mental health and well-being.
Qualifications:
Valid New York State Certification as a School Psychologist.
Experience working with high school students preferred.
Strong knowledge of high school developmental psychology, social and emotional development, and evidence-based interventions.
Demonstrated proficiency in psychological assessment, report writing, and consultation.
Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
This is short-term leave replacement position.
Salary = $140 a day for 6 weeks. After 6 weeks, salary is determined based on teacher's contract.
